INPUT DATA · Landfill

Input parameters
Waste composition by fraction 100%

The remaining fraction (other/inert materials) is calculated automatically to bring the total to 100%.

Rehabilitation and gas utilization

Landfill gas emissions over time

Before and after rehabilitation · first-order decay model

RESULTS · Landfill gas

Mass and emissions balance from the source workbook

INPUT DATA · Leachate

Hydrological and waste parameters

Operating years, rehabilitation year and waste composition are shared with the gas calculations and can be edited in the “Landfill gas” section.

RESULTS · Leachate and COD load

Assumptions in the source model

In the source workbook, future leachate volume and COD load after rehabilitation are both set to zero. This is a model assumption, not a guaranteed operational outcome. The hydrological balance components and the 100-year analysis horizon follow the Excel formulas.

FS — numerical range and stability classification

Interpreting the safety factor (FS)

Methodological note

The original Excel model reports safety-factor intervals, not exact FS values. Under non-seismic conditions: FS > 1.5, FS between 1.1 and 1.5, or FS < 1.1; under seismic loading: FS > 1.2 or FS < 1.2. This classification reproduces interpolation across the source lookup tables. It is not a substitute for an independent geotechnical assessment.
